Aftercare Scheibe Racing has welcomed Simon Reid as its second Superbike rider for the MotoAmerica event at Circuit of the Americas. Reid will ride the #101 BMW M 1000 RR alongside incumbent rider Max Flinders.

Reid, from Banbridge in Northern Ireland, is the son of two-time Formula Two World Champion and Isle of Man TT winner Brian Reid. He has been competing in the 2026 Pirelli National Superstock Championship in the British Superbike series aboard a Carl Cox BMW By MLav Racing BMW M 1000 RR. His MotoAmerica debut is supported by Carl Cox Motorsport, alpha Racing, BMW Motorrad USA, and BMW Motorrad Motorsport.

“I’m really excited to join Aftercare Scheibe Racing at COTA,” Reid said. “It’ll be my first race in MotoAmerica, and I can’t wait to get started next week.”

Max Flinders, who has raced for Aftercare Scheibe Racing since the 2015 season, will now have a teammate for the first time in his MotoAmerica career. Flinders made his series debut at COTA during the inaugural season’s first official test. He welcomed Reid’s arrival, noting the value of having another British rider in the garage.

“I’m excited to have Simon as part of the Aftercare Scheibe Racing team at COTA,” Flinders commented. “Having another Brit around will be awesome, plus I’ve never had a teammate before, so it will be interesting to see how it is.”

Team owner Steve Scheibe highlighted the strategic benefit of expanding to two riders. “Having a two-rider team is going to help both Simon and Max, and it will also help us advance our program and get both riders up to speed more quickly,” he said. Scheibe noted his prior experience managing two-rider teams and thanked the partners enabling the effort.

The team’s schedule at COTA begins Friday, September 11, with Superbike Free Practice 1 at 10:55 a.m. CT. Timed Practice follows at 2:50 p.m. CT. Saturday includes Free Practice 2 at 9:45 a.m. CT and Final Qualifying at 11:35 a.m. CT, before Race 1 at 3:12 p.m. CT. Race 2 is set for Sunday at the same time.

Aftercare Scheibe Racing has fielded a rider in the MotoAmerica Superbike Championship every year since the series launched in 2015. The COTA event marks the team’s first time running two riders in the premier class.
