Vietti Joins CFMOTO Aspar for 2027

Celestino Vietti will join the CFMOTO Aspar Team in Moto2 for the 2027 season, aiming to contest the championship. The Italian rider will return to riding a Kalex for the first time since 2024, when he scored three victories and 165 points in the intermediate class.
Team Change
The move comes after the CFMOTO Aspar Team lost two of its top riders, David Alonso and Dani Holgado, to MotoGP. The squad had to rebuild its Moto2 lineup for 2027, and the arrival of Vietti is seen as a key part of that effort. The team’s current roster can be viewed on the squad page.
Rider Background
Vietti has more than a hundred Grand Prix starts in Moto2, with eight wins and 17 podiums to his name. He currently sits seventh in the overall standings, with 112 points and three podiums, just a few points behind Alonso and Holgado. His 2024 season statistics, including his three wins, are available in the stats section.
Team Strategy
Jorge Martínez “Aspar” said the addition of Vietti completes a very strong team for 2027. He added that the squad will continue to fight for top positions, a goal that was pursued with Alonso and Holgado last season. “We are once again counting on a rider from the VR46 Riders Academy, following the experiences of Bagnaia and Migno in the World Championship, as well as Bezzecchi and Marini in what currently is the MotoJunior,” Martínez explained.
Quotes
Vietti expressed enthusiasm about the move. “I’m very happy; joining a team that is highly competitive-as proven over the years-is a great opportunity,” he said. “Next year, I’ll be changing both team and bike; it will be a wonderful and exciting challenge, and I’ll give it my all to fight for the championship.”
New Additions
The 2027 lineup also includes Máximo Quiles, who confirmed his step up from Moto3 to the intermediate class at the start of the summer break. The team’s current standings, showing Vietti’s position relative to Alonso and Holgado, can be found on the standings page.
