Marc Marquez claimed victory in the 2026 MotoGP Sprint at MotorLand Aragon. He won by 1.1 seconds after leading every single lap of the race.
His decisive move came at the first corner on the opening lap. Marquez passed pole-sitter Marco Bezzecchi, a maneuver that also allowed Alex Marquez to slip through into second place. According to the report from Bikesport News, this left Bezzecchi "out to dry."
The order of the top three riders remained static for the entire 11-lap distance. Bezzecchi's choice of a soft-compound rear tyre, compared to the medium tyres on the Ducatis ahead of him, may have contributed to his lack of attacks.
Sprint Race Results
Behind the podium, a battle for fourth was settled in favor of Pedro Acosta. He fought with Jorge Martin, who like Bezzecchi had selected the soft rear tyre, and finished fifth.
The fight for sixth position lasted until the final lap. Fermin Aldeguer, after spending much of the race behind Diogo Moreira, made a late pass to secure the spot. Moreira took seventh, his soft rear tyre reportedly running out of grip at the end.

Raul Fernandez finished eighth as the lead Aprilia rider, having chosen the medium rear tyre. Johann Zarco collected the final championship point in ninth place. Qualifying Record
Qualifying for the Grand Prix set the stage on Saturday. Marco Bezzecchi secured his third pole position of the 2026 season. He set a new lap record at the circuit, posting the first-ever 1:44 lap of MotorLand Aragon.
Marc Marquez qualified second, with his brother Alex Marquez completing the front row in third. The full qualifying top ten, which helps set the fixtures for Sunday's race, was Bezzecchi, Marc Marquez, Alex Marquez, Raul Fernandez, Jorge Martin, Pedro Acosta, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Francesco Bagnaia, Johann Zarco, and Diogo Moreira.
Zarco will, however, drop down the order for Sunday's main event. He received a three-place grid penalty, which will see him start from 12th position. Fermin Aldeguer and Franco Morbidelli qualified 11th and 12th respectively.
