Tommy Bridewell has secured his place on the WorldSBK grid for 2027. The 38-year-old British rider has signed a contract extension with the Superbike Advocates team.

Bridewell, a former British Superbike champion, made a late switch to the world championship ahead of the 2026 campaign. He will continue to campaign a Ducati Panigale V4 R, the dominant machine in the series this year. Ducati machinery has won every race of the 2026 season so far, with future MotoGP rider Nicolo Bulega claiming 26 of the first 27 victories.

A Challenging Debut Season

The start of Bridewell's WorldSBK career was difficult. He missed the season-opener at Phillip Island. Despite this setback, his form has improved markedly. The rider has finished inside the top ten in eight of his last fifteen races.

Speaking after signing the new deal, Bridewell expressed his gratitude. "I want to thank Lee [Khouri] and the team for this amazing opportunity," he said. He described the debut season as "fantastic" and is eager to build on that foundation.

Continuity and Upcoming Changes

Bridewell highlighted the value of continuity for the 2027 campaign. He believes carrying the team's momentum forward will be key to further success. Significant technical changes are on the horizon for the championship, however.

WorldSBK will switch tyre suppliers from Pirelli to Michelin in 2027. This major shift will require adaptation from all teams and riders. With Ducati still expected to be the benchmark machine, the consistency within the Superbike Advocates garage could provide Bridewell a strong platform to challenge for better results.

Goals for the Future

The immediate focus is on finishing the 2026 season strongly. Bridewell joked about the team's work ethic, noting plans for just a single day off after the final round in Jerez before preparations for 2027 begin. "I can't wait to get going," he added.

Another major advantage for the British rider next year will be circuit knowledge. Many of the WorldSBK tracks were new to him in 2026. A full season of experience should help him compete more consistently from the outset.

The Superbike Advocates team and Bridewell now look ahead with a settled rider lineup and proven equipment.
