Alonso Lopez won the Moto2 race at MotorLand Aragon, beating Izan Guevara by 0.800 seconds. Manuel Gonzalez maintains the championship lead with 207.5 points.
Alonso Lopez won the FIM Moto2 World Championship race on Sunday at MotorLand Aragon in Spain. The Spaniard, riding for the ITALJET Gresini team on a Kalex with Pirelli tires, secured victory by 0.800 seconds after 19 laps.
Izan Guevara finished second on his BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Boscoscuro. David Alonso took a close third place aboard his CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team Kalex.
Race Results and Standings
According to the race report issued by MotoGP, Lopez earned his first win since the 2024 Qatar Grand Prix. He started from pole position and led the race from start to finish.
The final podium battle was intense. Guevara held off a fierce last-lap challenge from David Alonso to secure second. Alonso attempted a pass at Turn 14 but ran slightly wide, allowing Guevara to retake the position.

Mid-Race Battles
The race settled after aggressive starts. Senna Agius and Ivan Ortola made strong moves from lower grid positions early on.
By lap five, the top nine riders were covered by just over two and a half seconds. Lopez then extended his lead past half a second.
The action intensified around lap ten. Collin Veijer passed Daniel Holgado for third, but later crashed out from that position. David Alonso and Senna Agius also made passes on Holgado and championship leader Gonzalez.
A near-miss between teammates Agius and Gonzalez at Turn 1 dropped Gonzalez to seventh place with five laps remaining.
Closing Stages and Points Implications
Lopez managed his lead in the final laps despite pressure. Guevara and Alonso fought hard for second, which allowed Lopez to cruise to victory.
Senna Agius and Ivan Ortola finished fourth and fifth, scoring important points. Gonzalez finished sixth, causing his championship lead over Guevara to shrink to 32.5 points.
Daniel Holgado finished seventh. Deniz Öncü equaled his season-best result with an eighth-place finish from 18th on the grid. Alex Escrig recovered from an early off-track moment to finish ninth, and Adrian Huertas completed the top ten. The series now heads to Misano.
