Isle of Man TT Shifts 2027 Schedule for 100th Senior Race
The 2027 Isle of Man TT will feature major schedule changes, moving the historic 100th Senior TT from its traditional closing slot.

The Isle of Man TT has confirmed a revised schedule for its 2027 event, headlined by a shift for the historic 100th Senior TT race. The six-lap Senior will no longer close the fortnight, a break from tradition prompted by recent weather disruptions.
Organisers aim to avoid the issues of the last two years. Poor weather led to the cancellation of the 2025 Senior TT. This year's Senior race was stopped after just one lap due to red flags and was declared a result without restarting.
2027 Race Schedule Overview
The 2027 TT will begin on Saturday, June 5, with the RST Superbike TT. The event concludes on Saturday, June 12. The 100th Senior TT is now scheduled for Friday, June 11, the penultimate race day. Sidecar and sportbike classes will provide the final action on the Saturday.
A full day-by-day breakdown of the confirmed race schedule is as follows:
| Day | Date | Races Scheduled |
|---|---|---|
| Saturday | June 5 | RST Superbike TT |
| Sunday | June 6 | Supersport Race 1 |
| Tuesday | June 8 | Superstock Race 1, Sidecar Race 1 |
| Wednesday | June 9 | Supersport Race 2, Sportbike Race 1 |
| Friday | June 11 | 100th Senior TT |
| Saturday | June 12 | Sidecar Race 2, Sportbike Race 2 |
Class Changes and Safety Reforms
Significant changes are coming to the race classes. Sidecars, which were suspended from the 2026 TT following a series of major accidents, will return in 2027. They will operate under new rules designed to improve safety, sustainability, and competitiveness.
Meanwhile, the Supertwin class will be absent for the first time since 2012. The category is fully transitioning to sportbike machines.
Organiser's Rationale for the Shift
Paul Phillips, Head of Motorsport for the Isle of Man TT Races, explained the reasoning behind the new schedule in a statement. He said the schedule introduced in 2023 created stronger weekends and more racing. Phillips stated it helped attract more fans and deliver greater economic benefit.
"For 2027, we believe the right balance is nine substantial and clearly defined races," Phillips said. Moving from two Superstock races to one allows for more recovery time and better protection for the headline races.
He described the 2027 plan as an evolution. It keeps the two-weekend structure but gives each day a clear purpose. Placing the Senior TT on a Friday allows the day to be built around the historic occasion. It also retains Saturday as a contingency day.
Phillips emphasised the milestone. "We also want the 100th Senior to be about much more than the race itself," he stated. The event will celebrate the riders, motorcycles, and performances that have defined the race's history. The Senior TT is considered the most important race at the event.
