Cardenas Wins First National in MotoMINI Lombardy Round
Eleven-year-old Martina Cardenas became the first female racer to win a North American Mini National event at Lombardy Raceway.

Martina Cardenas, age 11, scored her first career National win in the Ohvale 160 category at the fifth round of the 2026 MotoMINI FIM Canadian National Championships. The event was held at Lombardy Raceway north of Kingston on Lake Ontario, the series' only venue to host events in every season.
Cardenas is the first female racer in North America to win a Mini National event. After poor starts hampered her in earlier rounds, she took the hole shot and led from start to finish in the opening race, edging series dominator Tommy Molnar by just over three seconds.
160 Class Battle
Qualifying set the stage for a close fight. In the first session, Cardenas was quickest by 0.09 seconds from Molnar, with a pace of 47.53 seconds. Xander Hilligas, joining the series for the first time from Dayton, Ohio, was third. Cardenas secured pole position in Q2 with a time of 47.51 seconds.
Race one saw Cardenas lead with Molnar in close pursuit. Will Brown and Hilligas fought for third, finishing 16 seconds behind the winner. The second race had a different outcome. Molnar led from the start and held off intense pressure from Cardenas. Traffic played a role, with Molnar finishing 1.7 seconds ahead.
With two races remaining in the ten-race series, the points standings are as follows:
| Rider | Points |
|---|---|
| Tommy Molnar | 190 Pts. |
| Martina Cardenas | 153 Pts. |
| Will Brown | 106 Pts. |
| Tammer Chehade | 76 Pts. |
| Xander Hilligas | 75 Pts. |
Stockill's 190 Class Dominance
In the GP-0 action for the bigger 190 Ohvale machines, 13-year-old Jager Stockill returned to form with a double victory. This followed the frustration of double electrical failures at the previous Shannonville National. According to the source report, Stockill was "relentless" in practice and qualifying.
He set pole position with a time of 45.16 seconds. Stefan Tanasic, a double winner at the previous round, qualified second. Stockill then dominated both races. He won the opener by 29 seconds over Tanasic, with a best lap of 45.19 seconds. The second race was stopped early after nine laps due to rain, with Stockill winning by 28 seconds after setting a best lap of 44.9 seconds.
The points standings in the 190 class after eight races are:
| Rider | Points |
|---|---|
| Stefan Tanasic | 170 pts. |
| Jager Stockill | 150 pts. |
| Eric Sergi | 136 pts. |
| Cohen Byberg | 110 pts. |
Path to Valencia
The top racers from the overall points standings in both Ohvale spec classes will head to Valencia, Spain for the World Championships. This event supports the final MotoGP round from November 23-26. The source indicates Molnar looks to have the trip locked in from the 160 class, while Tanasic looks set to go from the 190 class. Stockill has a chance to represent Team Canada for a third consecutive time.
The final round of the MotoMINI Canadian Nationals is scheduled for Saturday, September 26. It will be held at the interior Go-Kart track at Shannonville Motorsport Park as part of a larger regional racing celebration.
