Sasindu Prashansana dominated the 92nd Mahagasthota Hill Climb in Sri Lanka earlier this month. Riding a Triumph Street Triple 1200 RS for the SP57 Racing Team, he set the fastest overall two-wheel time of 36.649 seconds on the 0.429-mile pure roads track. According to a report by Jan Vavra for Roadracing News, the historic event, first run in 1934, was held on August 16-17 after a postponement from April due to fuel rationing.
The competition mixed four-wheel and two-wheel machinery alongside a historic cars parade. Prashansana's blistering time secured him victory in the Sports Touring Motorcycles up to 1400cc category. He also topped the Standard/Modified Supersport over 900cc up to 1000cc class.
