Gold Cup Super Twins Entry Packed With Stars
The Super Twins race at the 80th Anniversary Scarborough Gold Cup features a strong entry list, including lap record holder Rob Hodson and TT winners.

The Super Twins class at the 80th Anniversary Scarborough Gold Cup is set for another pulsating race. The entry list is packed with roads racing royalty, including lap record holder Rob Hodson and fourteen-time TT winner Peter Hickman.
Standout starters for the crackerjack Pub & Kitchen Super Twin race include Twins lap-record holder Rob Hodson on his SMT Racing Paton. Bob Smith Spring Cup winner Richard Cooper will ride an SR-R CF Moto. The formidable Peter Hickman joins the grid on a Swan Racing by PHR Performance Triumph.
Other notable names in the field are Joey Thompson, Sportbike & Junior Manx GP victor Johnny Stewart, and Sportbike TT runner-up Mikey Browne. TT Privateers Champion Barry Furber, Stephen Gorton, Ryan Dixon, and Shaun Anderson complete a formidable top tier of entrants.
Anderson Explains Scarborough Return
Shaun Anderson, who finished second in this week's Historic Senior Classic TT, recently spoke to Road Racing News about his return. He outlined why now is the right time for his first Scarborough racing endeavours since 2023.
Anderson's opportunity came through a tie-up with the Moto Twelve team. "Eddie contacted me, would you be interested in riding at Scarborough, haven’t done Scarborough since 2023," he said. He decided to give it a run, noting the significance of the 80th Anniversary event and expecting big grids.
He finds the Oliver's Mount circuit an interesting place to ride. "I still haven’t fully fallen in love with it but it was more interesting than I thought it would be," Anderson admitted. He had always intended to return, but end-of-season constraints on funds and time previously prevented it.
Full Field Aims For Tumultuous Campaigns
The full 32-rider entry list contains many others seeking tumultuous Gold Cup campaigns. This includes Anderson’s Moto Twelve Racing team-mate Adam ‘Chad’ Child. Cowton Racing’s Bailey Harker and William Grant are also on the list.
Rapid Honda TT 2026 crew-chief to Jamie Coward, Dave Hewson, will ride an Obsession Engineering Aprilia. The field is further bolstered by Oliver Morgan Edwards, Jack Sim, and David McArthur.
More competitors aiming to make their mark include Scott Aitkin, Shaun Buckle, and Russell Brook. Michael Allen, Jimmy Buchanan on a Lawtech/TPI Mechanical S2R Ducati, and Kramer-equipped Dave Walsh are also entered. Kevin Barsby and Oliver Dean on an OC Graphics Racing Aprilia complete the lineup.
The Gold Cup Super-Twin sizzlers are now bubbling up. It will not be long until we find out who emerges as this month's class titan.
